Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil with THC and added Terpenes
Our full spectrum cbd hemp oil products have less than 0.3% THC and have added terpenes for each of our products.
Terpenes are hydrocarbons that are produced by a wide range of plants. They are aromatic compounds responsible for the pungent odors associated with the cannabis plant. Terpenes are also what give a rose, lavender, oregano, citrus fruits, etc. their particular smells. Terpenes play a vital role in maintaining homeostasis of our ecosystem. Terpenes are the main building blocks within a plant's physiology. They play an important role in a plant's production of resins, hormones, vitamins, plant pigments, as well as cannabinoids. They protect plants from damaging UV rays, repel insects, or attract beneficial insects, and protect plants from fungal infections.
Terpenes are known to have the following properties: antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-cancer, anxiolytic, anti-oxidant, gastro-protective, neuroprotective, and many more. Along with having proven medical benefits, terpenes work as a catalyst with CBD by allowing it to bind to receptor sites more effectively, helping it to cross the blood/brain barrier and making CBD more effective at lower doses. Certain terpenes can alter the rate of production of serotonin and dopamine neurotransmitters, therefore limiting the movement/availability to cannabinoid receptors.
At Karma Farma, we add terpenes to our CBD rich hemp oil products to make them more effective.
Our new terpene enhanced formulas are created with a variety of natural terpenes, known for their therapeutic effects. Certain terpenes are emphasized within each formula to offer specific support for a range of conditions. No flavors other than terpenes are added, which accounts for the unusual flavors.
Research is showing that terpenes may be equally responsible, in relation to cannabinoids themselves, for the beneficial effects of cannabis therapeutics, and will pave the way for cannabis products going into the future. Terpenes are vital to our health and play an important role in our daily lives. Although terpenes are naturally present in cannabis, levels and types can vary, so enhancing our cannabis oils with terpenes allows more control in keeping consistent products. Along with having proven medical benefits, terpenes also work as a catalyst with CBD, allowing it to bind to receptor sites more effectively, helping it cross the blood brain barrier, and making CBD more effective at lower doses.
When using our 1200 mg formulas, keep in mind that 1 drop of oil equals 1 mg of CBD. It is suggested to start with 5-10 drops (5-10 mgs) placed under the tongue, and held for a minute or two. This allows the mucus membranes to absorb the cannabinoids and terpenes into the bloodstream rapidly. If an effect is not felt within 30 minutes, 5-10 more drops may be taken. Lower amounts of cannabis may be more effective, so start low, and work your way up until you have a therapeutic response. That can be used as a baseline moving forward. Decrease the amount taken once symptoms are under control. Suggested average daily amounts of CBD are 15-30 mgs. While these are averages, different conditions require different amounts of CBD to effectively control symptoms. Chronic pain and cancer typically require higher mgs. than normal to start.
